Your backpack
You want to go for a road trip ? Moving from places every 3 days ? Then forget about the suitcase. I strongly advise you to take a backpack which would be way more easy to carry.
I personally have the Forclaz 50 + 10L Trekking backpack from Decathlon and limit its weight at maximum 12 kilos (26,5 lbs) when I leave, as I will always buy stuff during my trip that will make it heavier.
Essentials +
-
Packing cubes - a very practical set of fabric bags and toiletry bag (with hook!)
-
Underwear for a week (at least)
-
2 bank cards (stored in different places)
-
A pair of Birkenstocks (more comfortable than flip-flops)
-
A pair of comfortable sneakers (that you can wear for partying and hiking)

Meeting people
Choose hostels rather than hotels to meet people and look at the comments to see if they regularly organize events.
Bookings
Before booking via a platform, type the name of the place on Google maps to compare prices
Notes
Leaving takes you on a journey physically but also mentally. Keep a little notebook to write down what you experience at each stage because you won't find it in your photos!
Apps
Google Maps
Google Translate
Currency
Hostelworld, Booking.com, Agoda & Trip.com
GPT chat
Memories
Save your photos on iCloud or equivalent, check that the photos are transferred via the website before leaving!!
Don't take too much
I generally don't recommend you to bring :
Valuable jewelry/watches (monetary or sentimental)
Hiking boots
Sleeping bag
Jean pants (heavy + slow to dry)
Pair of heels (really you're going to wear them once)
Camera (even if it takes great photos, you will use it very little and it will take up a lot of space)
Suitcase
Keep in mind that you could lose everything so don't take anything too precious!
